Beautiful Lake Elsinore is located 2 miles off the 15 freeway off of the Main Street exit in the Riverside County.  Lake Elsinore is the centerpiece of the City and as Southern California’s largest natural lake everyone is sure to have a good time.  The lake is 2.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, providing a 3,500 acre lake, with 10 miles of shoreline.

SERVICES/ FACILITY:
Lake Elsinore Recreation area is starting a 3 year renovation project.  The project will add a marina that will provide monthly wet slips, monthly dry storage spaces, overnight wet slip rentals, two fish cleaning stations, a bait shop to provide live bait and tackle gear, and a 6 lane boat launching ramp.  In addition, we will be adding over 200 camping spaces that will provide electricity, water, sewer hookups, and telephone and internet connections on every site.  There will also be around 100 spaces for those who wish to be a monthly resident at Lake Elsinore Recreation Area.  Other amenities will include a swimming pool and spa, tennis courts, a business/conference room complete with computers, a fitness center, and a recreation room with a pool table and arcade games. 

While this facility is under construction the park will remain OPEN.

CAMPING:
There are currently 120 RV or tent sites which have electric and water hookups.  There are 10 RV only sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups.  There are 51 tent sites with water available.  All reservations must be placed at least 3 days in advance.  There is a 2-night minimum stay on most weekends with a 3-night stay on holiday weekends; there are no exceptions to this policy.   If you fail to make reservations before the allowable 3 days, there are first come first serve spaces available, however we do not guarantee electricity or water hook-ups on any first come first serve spaces.

Group Sites are located in the Whispering Pines Area, with 11 group sites for large groups of 30-150 people. There are multiple fire rings on each site, but you must provide your own tables. There is no electricity or running water on the group sites, however, water is accessible and there are outhouse bathrooms throughout the group site area.  The camping fee does not include your vehicle parking; each vehicle will have to pay the extra vehicle parking fee.

The maximum number of people per individual site is 6; you may have an additional 2 people, which will be $5 per person, per day. The vehicle capacity per site is 2; boats or jet ski’s, a RV or a trailer is considered a vehicle.  Additional vehicles, boats, or trailers will be charged $10 per day. The following variations are allowed on each site:

  • 2 tents, 2 vehicles, 6 people
  • 1 RV, 1 tent, 1 vehicle, 6 people
  • 1 RV, 1 vehicle, 6 people

CANCELLATION POLICY:
**Cancellations or changes for individual campsites must be made 3 days prior to your day of arrival, not including your day of arrival. The reservation fee will not be refunded.

**Group Site Cancellations or changes must be made 3 days prior to your day of arrival, not including day of arrival. The first night's camping fee and $8 reservation fee will not be refunded.

**If you fail to cancel or make changes to your reservation 3 days prior to your arrival, you will be issued a camp credit which you must use within a year, from the date of your original reservation.  When using your camp credit you may upgrade or add sites to your camp credit, however, additional payment will be collected if necessary.  If you cancel your visit while using your camp credit you will not be re-issued another camp credit; camp credit may only be used one time.

CAMPGROUND RULES:

  • Bathrooms are closed from 9pm – 6am; There are port-a-potty’s available after bathroom hours.
  • Quiet Hours are 10pm to 8am; you will be asked to leave immediately if you are warned more than once.
  • Dog(s) must be kept on lease while outside, must clean dog(s) mess, barking dog(s) will NOT be tolerated.
  • No bass, loud, or amplified music
  • Speed Limit throughout the campground is 5 MPH
  • Removal of RESERVED PLACARDS from another site will result in dismissal
  • Fires must be kept within  the fire rings
  • Fires must be EXTINGUISHED before going to bed and/or leaving campsite
  • All guests are expected to throw all their trash away in the appropriate cans or dumps

Check-in is at 2 PM; you may arrive earlier if there is no other guest on the site which you have reserved.

Check-out is at 1 PM; you may extend your stay for an additional $10 as long as no other guest has reserved the site.

The Gatehouse provides ice and firewood and the Seaport Boat Launch provides the Elsinore Lake Pass for your convenience along with a few boating items such as flags, water toys and shoes, tow ropes, and personal flotation devices (life vests).  There is no California Department of Fish & Game fishing licenses sold at the Seaport Boat Launch.  The Seaport offers 4 lanes for your use.

Along Lakeshore Drive, you will find 3 designated fishing areas, a beach area for wading, restrooms, volleyball and picnic areas, shaded structures, and barbeques for your use.
