Lake George Campground is located in the Eastern Sierras in the Lakes Basin near
the Town of Mammoth Lakes, at an elevation of 9,000 feet. Campsites are located in
a Lodge Pole pine forest above the shoreline of beautiful Lake George, and a favorite
place for both families and anglers.
CAMPING:
The campground is open from early June until mid September; please call information
for the actual opening and closing dates of the campground. The maximum stay
is 7 days at all sites. The campground is on a first come, first serve basis.
There are 16 family campsites complete with a picnic table and
fire ring. All sites have bear-proof lockers for food protection.

SERVICES & FACILITIES:
Flush toilets and potable water are available. A hospital is located approximately
5 miles away located in the Town of Mammoth Lakes.
THINGS TO DO:
Fishing is available on Lake George and other nearby lakes and streams. Backcountry
hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback rental, equestrian trails, a marina, and
boat rental are also close to the campground. There is also a factory outlet mall,
golf course, and restaurants are in the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Summer mountain bike
park and gondola rides are available at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area (approximately
7 miles). An interpretive program in the form of nature hikes, kid programs and
campfire programs are provided weekly.
DIRECTIONS:
Take US 395 to State Highway 203 to Mammoth Lakes. Proceed west on SH 203 for
approximately 10 miles through the Town of Mammoth Lakes continuing on Lake Mary
Road to the Lake George Campground cutoff.
