The Wheeler Gorge Campground is located off
Highway 33, north of Ojai. The roads are paved and the
vegetation is a mix of trees and chaparral. The north fork of
the Matilija Creek runs through the campground providing
recreational fishing and swimming opportunities. The
campground is open year round.
CAMPING:
The campground has 68 family campsites, 5 handicap accessible
sites, and 6 double sites for larger groups. RV's maximum
length is 35 feet. Each site contains a table, barbecue
and fire ring.
A dump station with potable water is available free of charge
to all overnight guests. These sites are reserved on a first
come, first served basis.

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in
advance. This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on
weekends and a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends.
Maximum 2 vehicles per site. An additional fee will be
collected on-site for second vehicle. No check-in after 10PM,
security gate locked.
SERVICES & FACILITIES:
Vault toilets and potable water are provided. There is a pay
phone available. Firewood is available for sale at the
campground.

DIRECTIONS:
From US 101/Ventura, take highway 33 north
13.8 miles. Turn left remaining on highway 33 for 8 miles.
From Los Angeles, take I-5 north, then west on hwy 126 for 28
miles to Santa Paula. Go north on hwy 150 for 16 miles. Turn
left onto highway 33 north approximately 8 miles.
