Bridge Campground, 19 miles from Pagosa Springs, is northwest of US Highway 160 on the Piedra Road (County Road 600, which turns into Forest
Rd. 631).
The campground has 19 sites in a flat, open area. Plenty of large sites offer views of the high peaks to the north. It is moderately used, so sites are usually available. Horses are not allowed inside the campground. The Piedra Road is open year-round and suitable for most vehicles.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Streams offer fishing, and the area is popular for hunting. Several trails a few miles away access the Weminuche Wilderness and Piedra Area where only foot and horseback travel
are allowed.
WILLIAMS CREEK RESERVOIR is large and stocked with kokanee salmon and
trout. The Colorado Division of Wildlife offers fishing access through the
Williams Creek Campground to the dam. Although the campground end of
the lake has no boat ramp, lightweight boats can be carried the short distance
to the water. A National Forest boat ramp is also located 1/2 mile
north of the campground. Motorized boating is allowed on Williams Creek
Reservoir, but water skiing and wakeboarding are prohibited,
because the reservoir is restricted to wake-free boating.
