Ferris Campground

Ferris Canyon Campground is three miles upstream from Cabin Canyon along Forest Rd. 504. This barrier-free facility has 7 sites for camping and picnicking, with a hand pump for water. It is 3.5 miles downstream of the dam and popular with fly fishermen (catch-and-release only). The historic Lone Dome Ranger Station is nearby.

Historic Lone Dome Ranger Station is nearby and is a landmark and interpretation of the first ranger station which was built on the old Montezuma National Forest around 1912.

The Dolores River below McPhee Reservoir is popular with fly fishermen and river runners. Trees shade the area, but in summer, it is hot. Fishing is limited to catch-and-release with flies and lures only from Bradfield Bridge upstream to the dam. The river is popular for river rafting from
Bradfield Bridge to the confluence with the Colorado River in Utah. The closest services are in Dolores or Dove Creek.
