In California
During the hot temperatures, we recommend that you head for the high country. There are many trails to explore throughout the Inyo National Forest. Around Mammoth Lakes, we recommend basing your hiking activities at Coldwater, Lake Mary, Twin Lakes or New Shady Rest Campgrounds. Around June Lakes, we recommend staying at Oh Ridge, Reversed Creek, Gull Lake or Silver Lake Campgrounds.

In Colorado
We recommend the following campgrounds for "color watchers": O'Haver Lake, Cascade, Iron City, Whitestar,South Meadows, Kenosha Pass. Excellent hiking trails can be found near all of these spectacular campgrounds.
